About Us

A national icon,
since 1973.

For over half a century the Kenyatta International Convention Centre has stood as Kenya’s icon and symbol, a magnificent masterpiece woven into the nation’s history and a companion helping to shape its future. In September 2023, KICC marked its 50th anniversary.

No one pictures Nairobi’s skyline without KICC lining the blue skies. For fifty years it has hosted the meetings, summits and exhibitions, and the world leaders and celebrities, that define Kenya on the global stage.

As part of its performance commitments, the Corporation computes a productivity index each financial year. Data has been collected and computed for 2021–2022 and 2022–2023, and the 2023–2024 index is currently being updated.

  • CPA Samuel Waweru Mwangi is the Chairperson of Kenyatta International Convention Centre. 
  • Prior to joining the Corporation, Mwangi has served as head of Finance in various Corporates. 
  • Mwangi is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and operations.
  • He holds a Master of Science in Finance and Investment from and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) from KCA University. 
  • He is a certified Public Accountant and a certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA). He is also a member of ICPAK
  • Mwangi boasts of a proven track record in overseeing financial operations, managing budgets, and conducting detailed financial analyses.
  • He is also a successful entrepreneur.
  • His vast expertise in financial performance and management coupled with his leadership skills will be instrumental in steering Kenya’s MICE sector to even greater
    heights.
