The Kenyan athletics team is doing the nation proud in the Rio Olympics 2016. Faith Chepng’etich Kipyegon (left) and Consenslus Kipruto (right) have won two more gold medals for Kenya. Faith Kipyegon beat out the competition to win the women’s 1500m final and Consenslus Kipruto for the 3000m steeplechase final, putting Kenya at the top of the Athletics table with 4 gold medals so far. Kenya has eight medals in total, four gold, three silver and one bronze. Kipruto’s win in the steeplechase final marks Kenya’s ninth consecutive victory in the steeplechase event at the Olympics, he broke the Olympic record by 2 seconds as he finished the race in 8 minutes and 03.28 seconds. Kipyegon stunned the world when she beat out the champion and record holder from Ethiopia Genzebe Dibab to win the gold in a time of 4 minutes, 08.92 seconds.
